Brian Pak and Andrew Wesie met as computer science students at Carnegie Mellon University, where they founded PPP (Plaid Parliament of Pwning) in 2009. Over the next decade and a half, PPP became the most dominant competitive hacking team in history: nine DEF CON CTF championships, the most ever, including four consecutive titles from 2022 to 2025 as Maple Mallard Magistrates, the coalition of PPP, Maple Bacon, and Theori's own team, The Duck.

They built companies on the same instincts. Kaprica Security, founded in 2011, was acquired in part by Samsung in 2016.

That same year they founded Theori, an offensive security firm built on the principle that drove their competition record: find what others miss. Theori earned its reputation through deep-dive pentesting and red team engagements for enterprises across Korea and North America.

By 2025, the volume and velocity of AI-generated code had outpaced what manual pentesting could cover. The goal was simple: Scale offensive security expertise and put it within reach of every organization with Xint.
